Mastodon Fair will be held March 19th-23rd, 2019!

The Mastodon Fair will be held the week of March 19-23, 2019 at Jefferson College Field House in Hillsboro, MO.


November 30, 2018: Science Safety Paperwork Due for projects being entered to compete in International Events: ISEF (9th-12th), Genius Olympiad (9th-12th), and Broadcom MASTERS (5th-8th Only).  If you have not submitted your paperwork by the deadline, contact the to see if accommodations can be made.  See for forms and more details. January 2, 2019: Online Registration Opens at 12:01 a.m.

February 18, 2019: Online Registration Closes at 11:59 p.m.

March 1, 2019: Digital Art Projects Due.

Wednesday, March 20, 2019: Judging Day! Closed to the Public. Judges Needed for 1-2 hours between 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Sign up today.  Art Scholarship and International Science Competition Interviews 5 – 7:30 p.m.

Friday, March 22, 2019: Public Viewing 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.


Saturday, March 23, 2019: STEAM Expo! 12 – 6 p.m., FREE and Open to the Public! Lots of art and science events, hands-on experiences, and open project viewing!

Grand Awards Ceremony! 6 – 8 p.m. All educator and student participants walk in the opening ceremony and receive recognition medallions. Numerous awards and scholarships are presented!

This 2019 Mastodon Fair will be run totally by volunteers. To offer your assistance in any way, please email: or contact the Fair’s volunteer Executive Director, Samantha DeClue,  at 314-529-1329.

Donations are tax deductible as Mastodon Fair is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  Checks made payable to Mastodon Fair and mailed to: Mastodon Fair, 1000 Viking Drive, Hillsboro, MO 63050.

Mastodon Fair Awards Ceremony March 22, 2018

Please join us Thursday March 22, 2018 from 7-8pm at the Jefferson College Field House to congratulate the students and teachers who participated in this year’s Mastodon Fair art and science competitions!  All students who entered a project are invited to participate in the opening ceremony parade and receive an event medallion.  The top prizes and awards will be presented during the ceremony.

Note:  The gold, silver, bronze, and honorable mention medallions and ribbons will not be presented during the ceremony.  These medallions and ribbons will be available for pickup after the ceremony has concluded.  If the exhibit was entered by the teacher, then the teacher should pick up their students’ medallions/ribbons to deliver to their students at school.  If the exhibit was entered by the parent/guardian, then the parent/guardian should pick up their child’s medallion/ribbon.

If you are unable to attend the Awards Ceremony to pick up your prizes, medallions, ribbons, etc, then please contact the Mastodon Fair in order to schedule a different pickup date and time.

2017 Registration is now CLOSED

Registration for the 2017 Mastodon Fair is now closed.

Those who have registered will receive an email letting you know when it is OK to download and print your Exhibit ID labels.  If you do not receive an email by 3/3/17, then please contact us at or call 314-529-1329.

We look forward to seeing you at Exhibit Check-In on Tuesday March 14 between 9 AM – 7 PM.  If you have not pre-paid your registration fee, please be sure to bring payment with you to Exhibit Check-In.  Thank you to everyone who has entered the competition!
