Art – Getting Started

March 2: Digital Art Projects due, send DVD to the Fair Office at 1000 Viking Drive, Hillsboro MO 63050.


Participation Eligibility: Students in grades K-12 who attend public, private, or home schools in Missouri: Crawford, Franklin, Jefferson, St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve, St. Louis, and Washington Counties; and in Illinois: Brown, Jackson, Perry, Randolph, and Union Counties are eligible to enter an art project through their teacher or parents/legal guardian.


First, things to consider:

  • Are you interested in drawing, photography, clay, or another medium?
  • Does your artwork fall within the exhibit rules?
  • What is the title of your exhibit?
  • Was this artwork completed within this school year?

Teachers:

  • K-2nd grade are eligible for class projects (up to 30 students on a single project).
  • What medium are you interested in using?
  • You must choose a title for your class project.
  • Create!

K-8th Grade:

  • Do you want to create an individual or a group project?
  • What medium are you interested in using?
  • You must choose a title for your project.
  • Create!

9-12th Grade:

  • You must do an individual project.
  • You must choose a title for your project. (These can not be changed.)
  • What medium are you interested in using?
  • Please check Special Competitions for additional requirements.
  • Create!

Presenting your artwork at the Art Fair:

  • Create an artist’s statement.
  • Remember to affix your exhibit stickers and card as directed.
  • Create your artwork within the rules of the Fair.
